A 3.8 magnitude earthquake shook Antigua and Barbuda, as well as nearby islands, early on New Year’s Day.
The University of the West Indies (UWI) Seismic Research Centre reported that the tremor occurred at around 6:24 a.m., north-west of Antigua, at a depth of approximately 10 kilometres.
Residents in St. Kitts and Nevis and Montserrat also reported feeling the quake, though no damage or injuries have been reported. Authorities continue to monitor the region for any potential aftershocks.
