A magnitude 3.5 earthquake was detected early on Monday in waters north of Antigua and Barbuda, the UWI Seismic Research Centre (SRC) has said.
The tremor struck at about 03:05 local time, with preliminary data placing the epicentre 10km deep at 18.93N, 62.71W.
Saint John’s was about 223km north-west of the epicentre, while Basseterre in St Kitts and Nevis lay 181km to the south, and Brades, Montserrat, roughly 243km to the south-south-east.
The SRC said the readings were automatically generated and subject to revision after further analysis.
