PM Browne Defends Wife Amid Vehicle Procurement Controversy
Prime Minister Gaston Browne has defended his wife, Works Minister Maria Browne, insisting she did not authorize the purchase of any vehicles currently under government investigation.
Speaking on his weekly radio program on Saturday, Browne addressed growing controversy over the unauthorized acquisition of several high-end vehicles allegedly procured in the government’s name without Cabinet approval.
He dismissed speculation that Minister Browne was involved, calling such claims unfounded.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the situation has prompted questions about internal oversight but said his administration is taking firm steps to address the issue and restore public confidence.
