Acting Police Chief Lincoln Corbette has revealed that an individual recently handed over nine firearms to a police officer. This development comes as the police force, in collaboration with the Regional Security System (RSS), continues its efforts to rid the streets of illegal weapons.
The voluntary surrender of the nine firearms supports the goal of “Operation Clean Street”, which was jointly implemented by the police and the RSS starting on September 29. The operation’s mandate is specifically focused on removing illegal firearms from the country’s streets.
