Man Injured in Alleged Attack and Robbery in St John’s, Antigua and Barbuda

A man was taken to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre late on Sunday after he was allegedly attacked and robbed on Sir Vivian Richards Street in St John’s.

Antigua and Barbuda Police said the victim was checking on a relative’s home around 11:50 pm when he was struck on the back of the head, causing him to fall onto a concrete block and sustain a bleeding wound to his face.

The assailant reportedly continued the assault before stealing the man’s phone and bag, then fled through a nearby alley.

Emergency services treated the victim at the scene before taking him to hospital. He was unable to identify his attacker, police said, complicating the investigation.

Authorities are appealing to anyone with information to come forward and urged residents to remain vigilant. The incident adds to ongoing concerns about street crime in the capital.
