Parham Golden – By Samuel Peters
Parham Golden Grove Secure
It was a quiet Thursday in the First Division of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association, as Golden Grove and Parham secured important victories while English Harbour and Blue Jays battled to a 1-1 draw.
At Radio Range, Masterballers suffered a 1-0 defeat to Golden Grove, with Nyique Baptiste providing the decisive moment in the 48th minute with a stunning strike that proved to be the match-winner.
Elsewhere, former Premier League champions Parham edged past Bendals 2-1 in a hard-fought encounter. Dale Gardner opened the scoring in the 34th minute before Andy Daniel doubled Parham’s advantage in the 75th, giving his side a comfortable two-goal cushion. Bendals fought back late through Daren Stevens, who pulled one back in the 83rd minute, but it wasn’t enough as Parham held on for all three points.
The only draw of the day came between English Harbour and Blue Jays, which finished 1-1. After a goalless first half, Akeem Weekes broke the deadlock in the 54th minute to put English Harbour ahead. However, Ja-Rohn Thomas equalized for the Blue Jays in the 77th minute to ensure the points were shared.
