Williams Erupts Points Flyers

TJ Williams put on one of the greatest individual performances in Antigua and Barbuda basketball history as Division One of the ABBA resumed on Thursday evening at the JSC Sports Complex. He posted 60 points on 20-34 shooting (58%), including a remarkable 12-21 from three-point range, as the Flyers demolished the winless Navigators by an astonishing 86 points in a 128-42 triumph.

His masterpiece was supported by Daniel Perez‘s 20 points on 10-18 shooting, while Javonte Daley contributed 14 points and a game-high 13 assists. Russell Daly added 10 points off the bench as the Flyers shot an efficient 53% from the field overall.

The Flyers dominated every facet of the game, converting 51 points off turnovers and scoring 56 points in the paint. They outscored the Navigators 40-6 in the opening quarter and never looked back. The defending champions’ 128 points marked one of the highest-scoring performances in Division One history.

For the Navigators, Ammiel Williams led with 10 points despite shooting just 4-14 from the field as the team shot a dismal 25% overall and committed 31 turnovers.

In a far more competitive contest, JSC Red Hawks held off a determined Da Project side to claim a 9-point victory in a high-scoring affair as both sides got past 100 points (110-101)

The Hawks received balanced scoring from their starting lineup, with Bryce Smith leading the way with a double double of 23 points and 12 rebounds. Aubrey Feaster and Andre Burnette each contributed 20 points, with Feaster adding 10 assists for a double-double. Cohen Desouza recorded 18 points and 15 rebounds for another double, while Humroy Wright added 17 points off the bench. The Hawks shot an impressive 57% from the field and 50% from three-point range.

Da Project fought valiantly behind Malik Moore‘s game-high 31 points on 11-19 shooting (57%). Cornell Greenwood added 25 points with 8 steals, while T-Shawn Lewis contributed a double of his own with 24 points and 19 rebounds off the bench.

Despite shooting 70% from the free-throw line and scoring 48 points in the paint, Da Project trailed throughout most of the game. Their biggest lead was just by a point as the Hawks’ depth and efficiency proved decisive. The Hawks led by as many as 14 points and maintained control down the stretch.

The Flyers’ dominant performance sends a message to the rest of the league despite their earlier loss to the Ottos, while the Hawks continue building momentum with their victory. The Navigators’ struggles deepen as they search desperately for their first win of the season, while Da Project will look to regroup after another close loss.

The Division will resume on Saturday as Navigators will battle the JSC Hawks while All Saints Slam will match up against Ottos.
