Man Accused – A man has pleaded not guilty to causing death by reckless driving in a case involving a fatal collision that killed a medical student and seriously injured another.

Karim Edwards, an accountant, recently appeared before Justice Rajiv Persaud in the High Court facing charges stemming from an October 23, 2022 incident on Friars Hill Road.
Prosecutors allege Edwards’ vehicle struck Kenneth Mathew and Priyanjana Das as they were crossing the roadway.
Mathew suffered severe brain trauma and died just over a week after the collision. Das survived but lost her right arm, sustained fractures to her left arm, and suffered pelvic injuries.
The matter has been set for case management on March 20, after which a trial date will be scheduled.
