A 22-year-old man has been remanded to His Majesty’s Prison after he was arrested in connection with a bomb threat made against Police Headquarters.
The suspect, Kadeem Isaac, a resident of Old Parham Road, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel Thursday morning. He was not represented by counsel.
The threat, which was made on Monday, forced officers to evacuate the Police Headquarters building on American Road. Members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team and the K-9 Unit were deployed to sweep the premises before the all-clear was given.
The suspect was taken into custody around 6:15 on Tuesday morning during an operation carried out by officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department Task Force, and is currently assisting police with their ongoing investigations.
The Police Administration said it continues to treat all threats to public safety with the utmost seriousness.
The matter is to be transferred to Magistrate Andrew Mighty who will then hear the matter on May 5.
