Under the theme “Tap Into Growth: Powering Business Through Technology”, the event drew an enthusiastic turnout of business owners, entrepreneurs and corporate decision-makers eager to explore how technology can strengthen and grow their operations.

The morning delivered on its promise and attendees left energised, informed, and in many cases, ready to act.

Inspired By The Keynote

Technology entrepreneur Mr. Laurence Francis, Managing Director of Indies Greens and founder of Worldnet Concepts Limited, delivered a keynote address that captivated the room. Drawing on more than three decades of experience across telecommunications, IT services and agribusiness, Mr. Francis spoke candidly about his entrepreneurial journey and the role technology has played at every turn. Attendees were visibly moved — taking notes, asking questions, and seeking him out personally during the networking session that followed.

Excited By Tap On Phone

The highlight of the demonstration segment was the live launch of Tap on Phone, presented by Mr. Ariel Rochwerger, Chief Executive Officer of Fygaro. The product allows businesses and vendors to accept card payments directly through an Android NFC-enabled smartphone via the Fygaro app, with no point-of-sale hardware required and payments deposited directly into the client’s account.

When the first live transaction registered on screen, the room broke into applause. The brunch session that followed saw attendees crowding around CIBC Caribbean’s team to learn how to sign up — among them market vendors, event planners and professional service providers who immediately grasped the product’s potential for their businesses.

A Full Morning Of Insight

Ms. Jennifer Fuller, Director of Enterprise Payments, Cards and Merchant Services at CIBC Caribbean’s Head Office in Barbados, addressed attendees on the bank’s broader digital payments strategy across the region. A Fireside Conversation, moderated by MC Mrs. Raynel Carroll, rounded out the programme with a practical, audience-driven exchange on integrating technology into everyday business operations. The session ran beyond schedule — by popular demand.
