Maj Jailed – Damar Stapleton, a resident of Bendals Village has been jailed for two and a half years.
Maj Jailed Drug Trafficking
Stapleton was sentenced in the High Court last Friday after previously pleading guilty to drug trafficking before Justice John Spencer on May 12th.
The conviction relates to an incident at Deep Water Harbour on March 8th, 2024, when police and Customs officers discovered 41 pounds of cannabis in two boxes during a joint operation. The drug had an estimated street value of $246,000.
Following investigations, Stapleton was arrested and charged.
Meanwhile, Stapleton was involved in a separate matter in which he was charged with importing 20 pounds of cannabis into the country. That alleged offence dates back to March 13th,2024, also at Deep Water Harbour.
He was also charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to transfer, and involvement in the supply of cannabis.
