Abcas Opens Final Application

The Antigua and Barbuda College of Advanced Studies (ABCAS) has opened a late application window for the 2026-2027 academic year, running from Wednesday, August 19 to Friday, August 21.

Dr Jonah Greene, director of ABCAS, said the final window gives school leavers and other prospective students a last opportunity to secure a place before the deadline closes. The late application fee is $150.

According to Dr Greene, the institution’s School of Agriculture is offering an associate degree in agricultural science, an area she said carries growing importance for food security and sustainable development locally.

“The opportunities available for persons in agriculture, food security and sustainable development are something that our people in Antigua and Barbuda should actually reach for,” Dr Greene said.

Tourism and hospitality programmes are also reopening after a period of dormancy. Applications have resumed for tourism management and food and beverage management through the institution’s Muriel O’Marde Campus.

Two new departments have been introduced this cycle. The Fine Arts and Creative Studies Department will offer programmes in graphic design, interior design, music, art, drama and dance. A separate Science and Health Services Department has also been established, covering environmental sciences, other health-related programmes and a physical therapist assistant programme.

Applicants interested in technical studies can continue to apply directly through the Harrison Centre, including for an associate degree in industrial technology. Liberal arts and teacher education programmes remain available as well.

Dr Greene said prospective students are encouraged to explore the full range of programmes available across the institution’s campuses before the application period closes.

Interested applicants have been asked to check ABCAS’s social media pages for further details.
