Unpaid Traffic – Motorists with unpaid traffic tickets and outstanding warrants could be prevented from licensing their vehicles as police move to flag defaulters in the Transport Board’s system.
Unpaid Traffic Tickets Block
Superintendent of Police Elson Quammie, head of the Traffic Department, announced the measure during an appearance on the Browne and Browne Show on Pointe FM.
Quammie said information on outstanding tickets is now being entered into the Transport Board’s system. Motorists whose names are flagged will be required to settle their fines before completing the vehicle-licensing process.
He urged affected drivers to visit the Traffic Department or the Magistrates’ Court to pay what they owe.
Quammie said thousands of traffic tickets remain unpaid and warned motorists that enforcement efforts are being strengthened.
