Six Bills – ST. JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda — Six Bills are scheduled to come before the House of Representatives when the Parliament of Antigua and Barbuda meets on Friday, September 18, 2026.
Six Bills Set Debate
The legislative agenda includes three Bills that have previously been brought before the House: the Antigua and Barbuda Forensic Bill, the Mental Health Bill, and the Fire and Rescue Service Bill.
Three new pieces of legislation will also be introduced for consideration. These are the Magistrate Court Procedure Bill, the Sexual Offences Amendment Bill, and the Firearms Amendment Bill.
The Bills are being made available to Members of Parliament and the public ahead of the sitting to allow for review and greater awareness of the proposed legislation.
Five of the Bills have been circulated electronically to Members of Parliament and published on the Government of Antigua and Barbuda’s official website. Physical copies were also delivered to all parliamentary representatives on Friday, September 11, 2026.
The advance circulation and publication of Bills support transparency and public access to the legislative process, while giving Members of Parliament, stakeholders and members of the public an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the proposed legislation before debate.
Members of the public are encouraged to review the Bills and follow the proceedings as Parliament considers the proposed legislation.
