Prime Minister Gaston Browne and Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey have reviewed final preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting during talks in London.
Their discussions focused on the remaining arrangements for the high-level summit and their shared ambition to deliver a transformative CHOGM when Commonwealth leaders gather in Antigua and Barbuda this November.
With fewer than 50 days remaining, the Commonwealth Secretariat described the meeting as a timely opportunity to assess preparations and reaffirm the objectives of the conference.
Botchwey said she looks forward to joining Browne in welcoming Commonwealth leaders to Antigua and Barbuda and working with the Government to ensure the summit produces meaningful outcomes for the organisation’s 2.7 billion citizens.
CHOGM 2026 will bring together heads of government and senior officials from across the Commonwealth to address shared priorities and determine the organisation’s future direction.
Antigua and Barbuda is scheduled to host the meeting from November 1 to 4, placing the twin-island state at the centre of Commonwealth diplomacy.
