Defending champions Princess Margaret School (PMS) opened their Boys Under-14 Division campaign in the Cool & Smooth/Joma Caribbean Schools Football Competition with a convincing 6-1 victory over St Mary’s Secondary School (SMSS) on Monday.
PMS took control early, with Kiran Cordice finding the net in the fifth minute before Aiquan Scott doubled the advantage two minutes later. Niquan Barton added a third in the 19th minute, but St Mary’s pulled one back through Ashawn Davis in the 30th minute.
PMS responded strongly, with Wozarney Williams scoring in the 36th minute before Curdyson Harper struck twice, in the 37th and 46th minutes, to complete the comprehensive victory.
Elsewhere, the Jennings Secondary School (JSS) and Clare Hall Secondary School (CHSS) played to a 2-2 draw.
Sir Novelle Richards Academy (SNRA) edged Irene B. Williams Secondary School (IBWS) 2-1, with Jayden Bellot scoring both goals for SNRA in the 16th and 33rd minutes. Adarius James scored IBWS’ lone goal in the 17th minute.
However, the match ended prematurely after IBWS were unable to continue following an unfortunate injury to their goalkeeper.
All Saints Secondary School (ASSS) produced the day’s biggest victory, blanking the Pares Secondary School (PSS) 5-0.
O’Jay Polimus was the standout performer, scoring four goals in the fifth, 18th, 31st and 39th minutes, while Keaton Kellman added the other in the 17th minute.
