Earlier a flash flood warning was issued for Barbuda until 7 pm this evening.

However, the met office says more minor flooding is likely for Antigua.

The weather will improvements tomorrow (Friday). Possible rainfall total for the forecast period is 10 to 40 mm (0.40 to 1.50 in).

The met office called on beachgoers should exercise caution against above normal surfs, mainly on the eastern side of the islands.

Already some entertainment activity and restaurants have closed their doors due to the heavy rains, gusts and thunder storms being experienced.
