The sudden suspension of the national school meals programme for today has angered some parents.
By way of an announcement on radio, the ministry of education said that serving of meals will be suspended today due to “minor clitches” at the Coolidge kitchen.
However, when the announcement hit the airwaves at about 9:20 a.m most students were already in school.
One parent said, “this is ridiculous.”
“School starts at 9:00 a.m. What are some of us to do? What will our children eat?” the angry mother questioned.
The announcement did not indicate a specific reason for the suspension of school meals, nor did it indicate when the service will resume.
