Men accused of murder remanded to prison

August 22, 2017
in News

The three men charged with the murder of Xavier Thomas of Cedar Grove last Friday have been placed on remand.

Dorian Marshall, Jason Millette and Shalom Bailey all of Donovans appeared in St John’s Magistrates’ Court this morning before Magistrate Conliffe Clarke.

The court set the committal date for the capital offence for November 8.

In addition to the murder charge, the trio face two counts of shooting with intent to murder.

Marshall, Millette and Bailey allegedly drove to Cedar Grove shortly after 9pm and opened fire on Thomas, 49-year-old Lorne Nicholas and Shane Matthew, 32, while they were sitting on a corner in the village.

Thomas, who was allegedly three months pregnant, was shot in the abdomen and left leg, but was pronounced dead while being treated for her injuries at the hospital.

Nicholas and Matthew sustained bullet wounds to their thighs and legs respectively.

Both men have been discharged from the hospital.

Attorneys Michael Archibald and Lawrence Daniel appeared in court this morning for the accused.
