Three people are due before the court today to answer to charges of unlawful possession of drugs and ammunition.

On Friday, police arrested and charged 33-year-old Shermain Harris, 31-year-old Nickayal Blaize and 24-year old Nichol Thomas all of Scott’s Hill.

They were charged with possession of 42.4 grams of cannabis and possession 89 blank .22 rounds of ammunition; ten rounds of 9mm ammunition, four .38 rounds of ammunition and one .380 ammunition round.

Blaize was further charged with possession of 115.6 grams of cannabis.

Detectives attached to the Criminal Investigations Department executed a search warrant on their Scott’s Hill home and found the illegal items hidden inside. The items were seized and all three were arrested and taken into custody.

Meanwhile, 39-year old Lev Josiah of Paynters was arrested and charged by police for possession of 15.9 grams of cannabis, possession with intent to transfer and unlawful possession of camouflage clothing.

On Saturday night, police officers were in Martin’s Village conducting a “Stop & Search” operation, when they came across Josiah’s vehicle parked alongside the road. A search was conducted on the vehicle in his presence and several small Ziploc plastic bags were found with Cannabis. The police also seized a camouflage pant and large sums of EC and US currencies. He was arrested and taken into custody.

In April, police arrested and charged Josiah for failing to make a declaration to the authorities at V.C Bird International Airport, after he was intercepted with large sums of US and EC currencies, attempting to leave the island. He is expected before the court today.
