DNA ‘Ready to Govern in the Interest of All,’ Massiah Says as Party Reaffirms Vision 2040

Joanne Massiah says the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) is prepared to govern in the interest of all Antiguans and Barbudans, positioning the party as a credible alternative administration while outlining a long-term development vision centred on people-driven growth.

In her New Year’s message, Massiah said the DNA stands ready to lead with bold, transparent governance and inclusive decision-making, stressing that effective leadership requires the active involvement of citizens and residents across all communities .

She framed the party’s readiness not in electoral terms, but as a responsibility to the country amid economic uncertainty and shifting global relationships, arguing that Antigua and Barbuda needs steady leadership capable of navigating complex domestic and international challenges.

Massiah reaffirmed the DNA’s commitment to Vision 2040, describing it as the party’s architectural blueprint for social and economic redevelopment, crafted “by the people, for the people.” She said the framework is designed to move the country beyond short-term fixes toward sustainable national development rooted in accountability and good governance .

According to Massiah, Vision 2040 places strong emphasis on job creation, support for small businesses, quality healthcare and world-class education — priorities she said directly affect households and economic stability. She noted that empowering entrepreneurs and strengthening public services are central to building resilience in a rapidly changing global economy .

Education and innovation also featured prominently in her remarks, with Massiah pointing to the need to prepare students for an increasingly technology-driven world shaped by artificial intelligence and emerging industries. She expressed confidence that Antiguan and Barbudan talent can play a leading role in developing new technologies, if given the right support and opportunities .

While acknowledging the hardships faced by many families, Massiah said the DNA’s approach is rooted in optimism and partnership, insisting that “better days are not beyond our possibilities.” She called for unity across political and social lines, arguing that national progress depends on collective action rather than division .

She closed by inviting citizens and residents to join the DNA in shaping a future defined by opportunity, prosperity and shared purpose, underscoring that the party’s readiness to govern is grounded in service, accountability and a long-term vision for Antigua and Barbuda’s development.
