Lovell Cites Roads, Closed Clinic as Key Concerns in All Saints West New Year’s Message

Harold Lovell, the United Progressive Party (UPP) caretaker for All Saints West, has accused the government of failing to deliver on key infrastructure and healthcare promises, pointing to deteriorating roads and the prolonged closure of the constituency’s only public health clinic.

In a New Year’s message marking four months since he assumed the caretaker role, Lovell said he has been struck by the level of encouragement he has received from residents, adding that his long-term residency in the constituency has given him firsthand experience of their daily challenges.

Lovell said All Saints Road and Buckley Line remain among the worst roadways on the island, despite repeated assurances that improvements would be made. He argued that delays and poor conditions continue to disrupt daily life for residents who rely on those routes.

He also raised concern about the continued closure of the All Saints public health clinic, which has been shut since April 2023. Lovell said the lack of a functioning clinic has left residents without convenient access to basic healthcare services, forcing them to seek care elsewhere.

According to Lovell, when the UPP’s All Saints West branch organized a free health clinic to address urgent needs, the initiative was criticized, even as the government’s promised polyclinic remains unopened and, he said, shows no visible signs of progress.

“These are not small issues,” Lovell said, describing healthcare access and infrastructure as matters of fairness, dignity and quality of life that affect every household in the constituency.

He said the UPP’s approach is rooted in what he described as honest leadership, practical solutions and a focus on people’s well-being rather than unfulfilled pledges. Lovell pledged to continue pressing the government for answers, advocating for residents and raising concerns about service delivery in the area.

As 2026 begins, Lovell urged residents to remain hopeful and united, saying meaningful change requires people to speak out and demand better conditions for their communities.
