FEATURE: A Small Voice, A Huge Sound: Enoch Thomas Lights Up Jamaica with His Christmas Message

December 21, 2025

At just 11 years old, gospel recording artist Enoch Thomas arrived in Jamaica with more than a suitcase and a schedule—he arrived carrying a message. One of hope. One of generosity. And one powerful enough to leave grown audiences wiping away tears.

Enoch and his mother touched down in Kingston on December 14, welcomed by warm island air and even warmer anticipation. By the time they returned to Antigua days later, it was clear this had been no ordinary promotional visit. It was a moment—one Jamaica will not soon forget.

Fresh off the release of his Christmas EP, Enoch’s Christmas Songs, and his heartfelt new single, For Christmas, No More Me Me, the young vocalist quickly captured attention across radio, television, and recording studios. His first major stop was Fame FM, where a Sunday morning interview evolved into something special. Impressed by Enoch’s poise and conviction, the host extended an open invitation for him to return—this time, live in studio.

But it was in the studio and on stage where Enoch’s presence resonated most deeply.

At Hottboxx Studio in Portmore, Enoch recorded vocals for I Am Delivered, delivering a performance marked by control, emotion, and maturity far beyond his years. Soon after, he stepped into the spotlight at Television Jamaica (TVJ). Following a midday rehearsal, Enoch delivered a powerful pre-recorded performance that left seasoned production staff visibly moved.

“A huge voice coming from such a small body,” one crew member remarked.

Set to air on Christmas Day, the performance is already being described as one of the season’s most moving moments on Jamaican television.

Emotion followed Enoch throughout the trip. During his On Stage interview with legendary broadcaster Winford Williams, he performed No More Me Me, a song calling listeners back to the true meaning of Christmas. As his voice filled the room, two women in the audience were overcome with emotion, quietly wiping away tears as the song’s message took hold.

The visit also marked a major milestone in Enoch’s young career: a recording session for Protect Our Children, an upcoming collaboration with reggae icons Luciano and Capleton—a rare and powerful endorsement of both his talent and his purpose.

Yet some of the most meaningful moments of the journey unfolded away from studio lights and television cameras.

In Kingston, Enoch quietly donated Christmas toys to children at Olsen Memorial Church, continuing a pattern of giving that includes earlier contributions to post-hurricane relief efforts. “I want other kids to think more about giving and helping others,” he shared simply—a sentiment that mirrors the spirit behind his music.

He also made a cameo appearance in the upcoming film Bethel, directed by Andrew Val, adding another creative milestone to an already unforgettable trip.

As the visit progressed, Enoch’s message extended even further into the heart of the island. On Friday, December 19, he performed in Trench Town at the request of legendary music figure Tommy Cowan, taking part in a community event that drew a warm and appreciative crowd. Enoch later traveled to Saint Elizabeth, a community still rebuilding after hurricane devastation. There, his performance brought not only joy, but renewed strength to villagers working to restore their homes and spirits.

For Enoch’s mother, one moment stands above all others. Watching audience members moved to tears by her son’s performance confirmed that this journey is about more than music. “The message touched them,” she said. “That’s when you know it’s real.”

When Enoch boarded his flight home, Jamaica was left with more than memories of a gifted child singer. It was left with a reminder—that sometimes the most powerful voices come in the smallest packages, and that the true spirit of Christmas still lives. It lives in songs that give rather than take, in hearts that choose generosity over excess, and in the clear, unwavering voice of a child who believes.
