The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission (ABFC) proudly announces the release of its first-ever Independence video, “Cape” by Empress. The music video is launched to celebrate the nation’s 44th Independence Anniversary.
As the executive producer, the Commission decided to feature Empress’s uplifting anthem “Cape,” which beautifully embodies the spirit of patriotism, unity, and pride in being Antiguans and Barbudans. The track was chosen as the inspirational soundtrack for this year’s Independence patriotic campaign, which aligns perfectly with the national theme, “Solid, Stable, Soaring.”
The Honourable Daryll S. Matthew, Minister of Education, Sports and Creative Industries, expressed his full support for the initiative, stating, “I was pleased when the Commission pitched this campaign. It was only fitting to bring this song to life during our Independence celebrations, as it represents who we are as a people: Solid, Stable, and Soaring. We are achieving great things in Antigua and Barbuda and on the world stage, carrying our flag with pride. I have also noted how much our children are gravitating to this song, and I hope this video provides them with a deeper understanding and meaning, inspiring them to do great things while carrying the flag as their cape.”
Artist Empress expressed her heartfelt gratitude, saying, “I am truly humbled that the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission chose my song ‘Cape’ for this year’s Independence campaign.
