St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Saturday, January 10, 2026

The police have seized a firearm, ammunition, illegal drugs, and other items following the execution of a search warrant in the Cedar Valley area early Saturday morning.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., a joint team of officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Task Force, Gang and Guns Suppression Unit (GAGSU), K-9 Unit, Forensic Evidence Recovery Unit (FERU), Drone Unit, and Special Services Unit (SSU) executed a search warrant at a residence in Cedar Valley.

During the search, officers discovered and seized one firearm with several matching rounds of ammunition, a quantity of plant material resembling the controlled drug cannabis, a sum of Eastern Caribbean and United States currency, aand other items.

A male of Cedar Valley and a female of Clare Hall were arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of cannabis and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
They were taken into custody at the St. John’s Police Station along with the seized items.

The Police Administration continues to intensify its operations targeting illegal firearms, narcotics, and criminal activity, as part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all communities.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
