The 267-foot superyacht Alfa Nero has reappeared on the global market, listed for €88.5 million (around US$102 million), more than double the price paid by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda just over a year ago.
Antigua acquired the vessel after it was abandoned in Falmouth Harbour, but maintaining the 2,150-gross-ton yacht proved costly. Dockage, crew, and upkeep quickly strained government resources. A failed public auction in 2023 led to a private sale in July 2024, reportedly to Ali Riza Yildirim, head of Turkey’s Yildirim Group, for about US$40 million.
Industry observers say the listing could represent one of the most lucrative yacht flips in recent years, though costs for refits, commissions, and maintenance may offset some profits.
The yacht’s sale is complicated by ongoing legal claims from Russian national Yullia Gureyeva, who asserts ownership of the vessel.
