Businessman and investor Calvin Ayre has commended the Government of Antigua and Barbuda for what he describes as a strong and productive partnership in supporting real-estate and business development on the island.
In a post on the social-media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, Mr Ayre said:
“Through all my years of developing real estate and business projects in Antigua, the government has proven a fantastic partner — everything an entrepreneur could hope for.
“Willing to listen, eager to collaborate, focused on the greater good that a project will create for their citizens…. The success of Nikki Beach Resort & Spa, Antigua will owe a lot to our great partners in government.”

His remarks come in the context of his involvement in the upcoming Nikki Beach Resort & Spa, Antigua development, which is part of broader efforts to boost high-end tourism and drive economic growth in Antigua and Barbuda.
Government officials have previously emphasised partnerships with prominent investors like Mr Ayre as central to their strategy of diversifying the tourist economy and creating employment opportunities for local citizens.
Mr Ayre’s statement highlights the collaborative tone between the investor community and the public sector on the island, and suggests that the success of the Nikki Beach project is being built on not only private investment but also effective government-engagement.
