Building Our Future Together – Everyone Counts

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda, in collaboration with the United Nations Barbados and Eastern Caribbean office, successfully unveiled the UN80 SDG Art Mural today, Friday, November 28th, 2025, as part of the global observance of the United Nations’ 80th Anniversary.

The ceremony took place at 9:30 a.m. along Independence Avenue, just outside the Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG).

The vibrant mural, created through a collaborative process, brought together the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, local youth, persons with disabilities, and key civil society organizations.

Guided by the theme “Building Our Future Together – Everyone Counts,” the artwork reflects the collective vision of inclusivity, unity, and shared responsibility.

Designed to visually represent the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the mural now stands as a striking symbol of Antigua and Barbuda’s continued commitment to sustainable development and the 2030 Agenda.

Its colorful imagery and community-driven creation process highlight the importance of ensuring all voices—especially youth and marginalized groups—are part of national development dialogues.

Today’s unveiling drew government officials, UN representatives, community stakeholders, and members of the public who gathered to celebrate this milestone of creativity, collaboration, and civic pride.

The event also served as a moment of reflection on the country’s achievements and ongoing efforts to create a more inclusive and sustainable future.

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda expressed appreciation to all partners and contributors, noting that the mural will serve as a lasting reminder that everyone counts in the nation’s journey of progress.
