The candlelight vigil brought together family, classmates, teachers and sports enthusiasts, all united in grief and disbelief at the loss of a young life. Mourners walked through the community before ending at the spot where Bowers was killed, standing shoulder to shoulder in silent tribute.
Speakers remembered him as a disciplined student at Ottos Comprehensive School, a promising athlete and a natural leader on the field. Friends recalled his easygoing nature and bright smile, while teachers spoke of his determination and passion for sport.
The gathering was both a memorial and a plea for peace in a community struggling with violence. Residents urged greater protection for young people and called for an end to the cycle of anger that has claimed too many lives.
