Car crash victim in serious condition

October 21, 2017
in News

Culvert Charles, a longshore man at the Deep Water Harbour, is said to be in serious condition at the hospital, after a three vehicle accident on Sir Sydney Walling Highway in the early morning hours of Friday.

Sources say Charles suffered a snapped neck and remains unconscious at hospital.

At about 2:30 AM morning, he was said to be coming from the Triple Thursdays event at the Sir Vivian Richards stadium. Travelling on the highway, he reportedly tipped the edge of a pick-up truck and then ran off the road near the former Transport Board offices.

The Police traffic department said three vehicles, a truck and two motor cars were involved in the collision.

Update

An earlier version of this article quoted police sources as saying that Tiquan Astaphan had turned himself in for being involved with the crash. The police traffic department has since released the young man and have cleared him of any involvement with accident. Any distress caused to the young man and his family is deeply regretted.
