Dalso the newest DNA candidate

November 19, 2017
in News

Businessman Kelton Dalso was revealed as the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) candidate for the St George constituency Saturday evening.

He joins five other candidates on the Joanne Massiah-led party ticket so far.

Dalso will face the United Progressive Party’s George Whener and, supposedly, the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party’s (ABLP) incumbent Dean Jonas in the next general election.

A well-known customs broker by trade, Dalso is a graduate of the Clare Hall Secondary School and the Antigua State College and is now pursuing a Law degree. A Catholic by faith, he is married with five children.

According to his profile at the launch, Dalso has a special interest in Labour relations, small business development, housing and healthcare.

Dalso is no newcomer to elected politics. He was a three-time ABLP St George branch chairman until he contested Dean Jonas for the constituency seat ahead of the 2014 general election.

After controversy with the branch over the nomination process and a falling out with ABLP General Secretary Mary Claire Hurst, Dalso left the party.

He contested the 2014 general election on the Antigua & Barbuda True Labour Party ticket.
