in News, Sport

The Development Control Authority (DCA) hereby informs the general public that the master plan recently submitted by Yida International Investment Antigua Ltd. for proposed works within the Special Economic Zone has been formally reviewed in accordance with national development and environmental standards.

Following detailed assessments carried out in collaboration with the relevant government agencies, the DCA confirms that the developments outlined in this master plan pose no threat to the mangrove conservation area and its ecosystem within the designated zone. Current analysis shows that the mangroves remain intact, undisturbed, and in a healthy condition.

To ensure the continued protection of these valuable natural habitats, the DCA will maintain ongoing supervision throughout the implementation of any approved works, in order to safeguard the structural integrity of future developments and to strictly enforce all environmental protection requirements.

Satellite images, drone footage, and field photographs attached to this notice all confirm that the mangrove conservation area within the Special Economic Zone has not been damaged. These materials reflect the Authority’s commitment to transparency and to maintaining public confidence.

The Development Control Authority (DCA) remains fully committed to the protection of Antigua and Barbuda’s natural environment. We will continue to ensure that the mangrove conservation area and surrounding habitats remain in a near-pristine, undisturbed state, and that all developers strictly comply with national laws and regulations.

Members of the public are invited to submit comments, observations, and recommendations through the DCA’s official channels as we continue to guide responsible and sustainable development within the Special Economic Zone.
