Her Excellency Karen-Mae Hill Re-Elected President of the Administration and Budget Committee of the Bureau International des Expositions

Her Excellency Ms. Karen-Mae Hill, High Commissioner for Antigua and Barbuda to the United Kingdom, was re-elected President of the Administration and Budget Commitee of the Bureau Interatnaional des Expositions (BIE) at the Organisation’s 177th General Assembly, held on 25 November 2025 in Paris, France.

Her Excellency’s re-election reflects the confidence of Member States in her leadership , experience and commitment to effective governance within the BIE.

The Administration and Budget Committee is one of the four principal committees of the BIE and is responsible for the preparation of the Organisation’s annual budget and for ensuring compliance with its financial and admimnistrative framework. The Committee comprises representatives from nine BIE Member States including Andorra, Angola, Bangladesh, Cyprus, France, Gabon, Switzerland, and Turkmenistan.

High Commissioner Hill was first elected to the position at the 173rd General Assembly of the BIE, held on 28 November 2023 in Paris. That Assembly also marked the conlusion of her service on the Information and Communication Committee and included the election of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as host of World Expo 2030.

Presidents of BIE committees are elected from among the delegates of Member States for a term of two years and may be re-elected for a second consecutive term. In addition to their committee repsonsibilities, Presidents also serve as Vice-Presidents of the BIE General Assembly.

The 177th General Assembly was attended by delegates from the BIE’S 184 Member States and included progress reports from BIE Comittees, updates on upcoming Expos and closing reports for Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai and the 24th Triennale Milano International Exhibition.

The Bureau Interantional des Expositions is the intergovernmental organisation responsible for overseeing and regulating international exhibitions lasting more than three weeks and of a non- commercial nature. Four categories of Expos are organised under its auspices: World Expos, Specialised Expos, Horticultural Expos, and the Treinnale di Milano.
