Relief spread through the Bendals community after 28-year-old Merlissa Jhero, reported missing for nearly three weeks, was confirmed safe and in good health.
Police said Jhero was last seen on Oct. 14, prompting community-led searches across Bendals and nearby areas. On Saturday, a relative announced on social media, “Merlissa Jhero has reached out confirming she is safe… We are very grateful that she is safe.”
The family urged others to inform loved ones if they ever need time away, to spare relatives “unnecessary worries and stress.”
Police are expected to conduct routine follow-up inquiries. For now, residents say they are simply thankful Jhero has been found.
