New Political Party Antigua and Barbuda National Congress Launches

December 31, 2025
in News, Sport

The Antigua and Barbuda National Congress (ABNC) is a new organisation established to end the disturbing, decades-long trend of lack of accountability, transparency, and fiscal discipline displayed by government under both the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) and the United Progressive Party (UPP).

In the past year only, our nation has been repeatedly caught in scandal after scandal, after scandal, after scandal.

We exist in a persistent drought for truth and honourable conduct from those tagged with honourable titles. We suffer through excessive and crippling taxation, the absence of consistent quality health care, and basic infrastructure, among others.

Worst yet, on every single occasion and issue — from nepotism to non-performance, criminal conduct to chronic waste, exploitation to self-enrichment — criticism from one as against the other is simply countered by a reminder of when the same or similar thing was done by the criticiser. Both the ABLP and UPP appear content with playing “punchinella,” but governance is not a children’s game, and their approach is neither clever nor entertaining.

The Antigua and Barbuda National Congress (ABNC) is pleased to present itself as an agent for the delivery of standards of governance that produce economical and other tangible benefits, which serve the interest of the State of Antigua and Barbuda and, by extension, her people.

The ABNC is committed to engage with individuals who are guided by our nation’s motto — “Each Endeavouring, All Achieving.” Though mindful of the claims of a historical disadvantage of supposed “third parties” in Caribbean politics, we are undaunted in our belief that for actual good governance and a better life, ABNC is poised to be your best option.

We look forward to having the opportunity of being elected to govern this country and to redefining how our people perceive and benefit from public service.
