Police Officers Achieve Top Academic Honours

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Monday, October 20, 2025.

The Police Administration proudly celebrates the outstanding academic accomplishments of several members of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, whose dedication to higher learning continues to elevate the standards of professional excellence within the organization.

Acting Sergeant of Police, Ms. Enzingar Jones, along with Corporal Kendel Shillingford and Police Constables Ms. Paula Simon and Milton Jeremy, have successfully completed their studies at internationally recognized universities, earning top academic honours.

Sergeant Jones graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resource Management. Her achievement stands as a testament to her determination and professional drive.

Meanwhile, Constable Paula Simon, attached to the St. John’s Fire Station, distinguished herself among Monroe University’s top scholars. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with both a Bachelor of Arts in Administration and a Master of Arts in Business Administration, attaining a flawless 4.0 GPA.

In recognition of her outstanding academic performance, Ms. Simon was inducted into the Delta Mu Delta International Business Honor Society, which honours academic distinction among business students at select universities. She also had the distinguished honour of carrying the main flag for the master’s degree graduates, a role reserved for those with exemplary academic records.

Reflecting on her achievement, Ms. Simon encouraged her colleagues to “have a willingness to learn, to understand, and to serve with wisdom,” reminding them that “education shapes better officers, stronger teams, and a more just society.”

Similarly, Corporal Kendel Shillingford and Constable Milton Jeremy also graduated from Monroe University, both attaining the highest academic distinction of Summa Cum Laude.

Corporal Shillingford earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, completing his studies with an impressive 3.905 GPA.

Constable Jeremy obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology, achieving an equally remarkable 3.915 GPA.

Their collective achievements embody the principles of discipline, perseverance, and continuous personal and professional growth that the Force seeks to promote among its members. They have now joined a plethora of officers who have excelled in their academic pursuits within the Police Force.

Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr. Everton Jeffers, extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduates, noting that their accomplishments reflect the Force’s vision for continuous development and excellence.

He said, “These accomplishments are worthy of the highest commendation. They reflect discipline, perseverance, and a commitment to excellence. The future of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda continues to look brighter through officers like these.”

He further underscored the importance of education in shaping the modern law enforcement professional, one equipped not only with operational skills but also with the analytical, ethical, and leadership capabilities necessary to meet today’s evolving challenges.

The Police Administration continues to encourage its members to pursue higher education and professional training as part of its ongoing mission to build a stronger, smarter, and more service-oriented organization dedicated to the safety and progress of Antigua and Barbuda.
