Police to Increase Traffic Checks and Stop & Search Operations Nationwide

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Monday, December 1, 2025

In light of the recent increase in traffic collisions and fatal road accidents across the country, the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda will be intensifying traffic checks and conducting regular stop and search operations island-wide.

These operations, which will take place both day and night, are part of the Police Administration’s ongoing efforts to curb reckless and dangerous driving, enforce compliance with traffic regulations, and enhance overall road safety.

Motorists are strongly advised to ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy, licensed, properly insured, and fully compliant with the Vehicles and Road Traffic Regulations of Antigua and Barbuda.

Drivers are further reminded to operate their vehicles with due care and attention, and to strictly adhere to the speed limits.

The Police Administration is asking residents and motorists to give their full cooperation during these exercises.
While some operations may cause delays or temporary disruptions to the normal flow of traffic, the measures are necessary to help reduce road accidents and preserve lives.

The police express appreciation for the public’s continued support as they work collectively to keep Antigua and Barbuda’s roads safe for all.
