Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle was released without charge after several hours of questioning at police headquarters on Boxing Day, authorities confirmed.
Pringle had been summoned to assist investigators examining the destruction of telecommunications pipes and related materials belonging to the Antigua Public Utilities Authority at Morris Bay, Old Road—an incident that disrupted preparatory work on the subsea cable project.
His attorneys said Pringle cooperated fully with the inquiry and answered all questions, adding that he has not been accused of, or charged with, any offence. Pringle has described the matter as politically motivated. Supporters gathered outside the station during the afternoon to show solidarity and call for fairness in the investigation.
