Protest Set for Friday Over Police Shooting of Teenager Khaleel Simon

October 15, 2025
in News, Sport

A community protest calling for justice in the police shooting of 18-year-old Khaleel Simon is scheduled for Friday, 17 October, outside the Bolans Police Station.

The demonstration, delayed last week by Tropical Storm Jerry, is expected to proceed “rain or shine,” organisers say.

Opposition MP Kelvin “Shugy” Simon, who represents the area, urged residents to attend. “The family is still mourning, the community is still traumatised. We must demand answers as to why Khaleel was shot the way he was.”

Simon said the event was not political but a call for justice and accountability. “This is about ensuring no other young person loses their life without explanation.”

Police have yet to release full details of the incident, which took place on Simon’s 18th birthday.
