Several workers promised outstanding pay before Chirstmas

The Cabinet of Antigua & Barbuda yesterday agreed to provide $1 million to workers of several institutions to meet outstanding payments.

The Central Board of Health, the National Solid Waste Management Authority, workers at Fiennes, Clarevue and  Public Works will benefit.

Customs and Excise Department, the Board of Guardians and Foster Parents who have not been paid various allowances and overtime payments; truckers who have provided legitimate services—and have not yet been paid—will also receive payments.

The $1 million will be provided from the Citizenship by Investment Programme, and ought to reach the pockets of the workers before the Christmas holidays according to Chief of Staff Lionel “Max” Hurst.
