Two women on a routine morning walk near Pigotts playing field reported a troubling encounter with a Spanish-speaking woman in a parked vehicle.
The incident occurred around 5:10 a.m. on Old Parham Road. One of the walkers said the driver repeatedly offered her a ride, refusing to take no for an answer. When threatened with a call to police, the woman allegedly drove off, hurling insults.
Minutes later, the same car was seen near the Landing Strip restaurant. The driver stepped out but quickly re-entered her vehicle. When it failed to start, one of the walkers photographed the licence plate.
The witness said the driver’s mention of “candy” brought back memories of the Chantel Crump case, urging residents to stay alert, especially during early morning walks.
