November 8, 2025
in Insights

Two men have pleaded not guilty to charges linked to a string of vehicle break-ins during the Soca Sangria event on November 2.

Omar Richards, 19, of Carnival Gardens, and St. Claire Simon, 26, of Barnes Hill, appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel this week on multiple charges, including theft, malicious damage, and giving false information to police.

Prosecutors allege the pair broke into several vehicles, stealing and damaging personal items worth about $977, including a Nissan Xtrail key, Versace perfume, and Apple AirPods.

Richards, who faces another theft charge, remains in custody, while Simon was granted bail. Both are due back in court on March 4, 2026.
