Residents in Antigua’s eastern corridor are expected to benefit from enhanced emergency medical support with the planned introduction of ambulatory services at the Glanvilles Polyclinic.
Ambulatory Services Begin Glanvilles
Health Minister Molwyn Joseph announced recently that the government has already procured an ambulance for the facility.
The vehicle has been shipped and is currently awaiting arrival in Antigua and Barbuda, after which it is expected to be commissioned and placed into service within days.
The ambulance service will support communities including Glanvilles, Freetown, Pares, Seatons, Willikies, Newfield and Bethesda, improving access to emergency medical transport across the eastern section of the island.
The initiative forms part of the government’s strategy to strengthen emergency response services and decentralise healthcare delivery.
Sir Molwyn also indicated that, as healthcare demands increase, a third polyclinic may eventually be required to serve the southern corridor, with coverage extending from Golden Grove to Old Road.
