Host Side – The Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) will be hosting a Women’s 7-A-Side Tournament as part of its promise to boost interest in women’s football here in Antigua.

The tournament, which offers free registration to all interested clubs, is scheduled to kick off on August 16th with matches scheduled for the FA’s Technical Center on Sir Sydney Walling Highway.

Empire Trendsetters won the ABFA’s inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) sponsored by the Calvin Ayre Foundation, clinching the title in October 2025 after a scoreless draw against runners-up Wadadli United FC.
Trendsetters pocketed EC$12,000 for winning the title with Wadadli United taking home EC$10,000 as second place finishers. Cutting Edge finished third, taking home EC$8,000.
The recently elected executive, led by President and former player, Ickford “Nyah” Roberts, has prioritized the restructuring of local programs with a specific emphasis on expanding youth and women’s football as part of their core four-year strategic mandate.
