Four Custody – Four people have been arrested after police seized a firearm and a flare gun during separate search operations at Villa and Gray’s Hill on Sunday, August 16th.
Four Custody After Villa
At around 5:45 a.m., officers from the Criminal Investigations Department Task Force, K-9 Unit, Narcotics Department, Special Services Unit and Forensics Evidence Recovery Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Villa.
Police discovered a firearm along with matching rounds of ammunition during the search. Three occupants of the residence were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and ammunition and taken into custody at the St John’s Police Station.
In a separate operation at Gray’s Hill, police executed a search warrant at another residence and found a flare gun concealed inside a vehicle door. One person was arrested and taken into custody.
Both operations form part of ongoing efforts by the Royal Police Force to remove illegal firearms, ammunition and other dangerous weapons from the streets.
Police are asking members of the public to assist by providing information on illegal firearms, ammunition or persons involved in criminal activity.
