Man Implicated Sixth Murder
A man who was charged with the murder of an All Saints resident has been remanded to His Majesty’s Prison (HMP) after he appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel yesterday.
Twenty-four-year-old Jermaine Nicholas of All Saints is charged with the murder of 29-year-old Jahmarie Pierre of Mack Pond, All Saints, following an incident that occurred shortly after 5 pm on March 25th in the vicinity of the All Saints traffic lights.
Police allege that Pierre was involved in an altercation with another man during which he sustained a stab wound to the back of his neck. He was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre where he was later pronounced dead.
Nicholas was arrested shortly after the incident and has since been formally charged. This was the sixth homicide recorded this year.
The accused was represented by attorney Damian Benjamin when he appeared before the Chief Magistrate. As magistrates do not have jurisdiction to grant bail on murder charges, Nicholas was remanded to HMP.
His case has been adjourned to June 3 for committal proceedings.
