More Success Gunners Daggers
Cedar Grove Gunners remain unbeaten in Division 2 of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) competition when they enjoyed a 16 points, 72-56 victory over Phoenix at the JSC basketball complex on Wednesday.
Keaddy Martin was the top scorer for Gunners, finishing with 16 points on six of 15 shooting. Martin also grabbed seven rebounds and dished three assists. There were 12 points each from Sergio Symister and Olivee Morris. Tyras Grayman contributed with nine points and seven rebounds while John Roland Jr hit eight points and snatched 15 rebounds, all in the winning effort.
For Phoenix, Adrian Carnegie sank a game-high of 18 points with Roshane Hewlett and Shamar Joseph each adding 13 points. Hewlett also grabbed 14 rebounds.
Also on Wednesday, Old Road Daggers defeated Flyers 2 by a 72-69 margin. Wester Batista Perez was the top scorer for the winners with 21 points on six of 22 shooting. Perez hit three of seven from two-point range and three of 15 from beyond the arc. There were 10 points each from Rafiki Harris, Devea Aaron and Gary Harrison. Harrison also grabbed 13 rebounds while Aaron picked up 11.
In a losing effort, Hansel Piper sank 21 points and pulled 11 rebounds for Flyers 2. Elijah Charles contributed with 15 points and six rebounds.
