The Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Volleyball Association (ABAVA) delivered another exciting slate of midweek matches, with commanding wins, a default result, and a tightly contested battle highlighting play across Wednesday and Thursday at the YMCA Sports Complex.
Stoneville Pytonz Dynasty Shine
On Wednesday, in the Women’s Division, Stoneville produced a strong all-round performance to secure a 3–1 victory in a match that lasted 108 minutes.
They dominated the opening two sets 25–16 and 25–15, showcasing control and efficiency on both ends of the court. Although their opponents responded with a 25–16 third-set win, Stoneville regrouped quickly to close out the contest 25–19 in the fourth set and seal an impressive victory.
Titleholders Pytonz were awarded a straight-sets (3–0) victory over Renegades via default earning maximum points without taking the court.
On Thursday night Dynasty battled past Schools in a three-set encounter. They narrowly took the opener 29–27 before Schools responded by edging the second set 26–24. With the match finely poised, Dynasty held their nerve in the third set, closing it out 15–10 to secure a hard-fought 2–1 victory.
Starz educated UWI in a cruising 3–0 win that lasted just 72 minutes, controlled proceedings throughout, winning 25–18, 25–21 and 25–13 to underline their attacking strength and defensive organization.
Invaders also registered a straight-sets victory, defeating Velocity 3–0 in a competitive 78-minute contest. Despite the scoreline, each set was closely contested, with Invaders edging Velocity 25–21, 25–23 and 25–22 to complete a composed and disciplined performance.
