Stop the Blame Game: UPP Rejects ABLP’s Spin on Washington Letter

stop blame game upp - Stop the Blame Game: UPP Rejects ABLP’s

The United Progressive Party (UPP) takes note of the statement issued today by ABLP Chairman Chet Greene and finds it to be a predictable exercise in political deflection, the party said in a release to the media yesterday.

Stop Blame Game Upp

“Instead of addressing the growing questions being asked in respect to the letter in the public domain, the ABLP has again chosen to manufacture outrage and construct a narrative of conspiracy.

“What Mr Greene’s response reveals is an administration that is unable to respond to legitimate scrutiny without resorting to personal attacks. This is not leadership; it is political damage control.

“The public – including our nationals abroad – is dealing with serious concerns: the US visa ban and bond; the underlying reasons for these restrictions; and the effect they are having on our education prospects, medical treatment, and business transactions.

“Therefore, the issues raised in the circulated letter are matters that require answers – not cheap press releases designed to insult opponents and seek sympathy.

“The UPP further rejects the suggestion that civil-society voices should be dismissed because the Browne Administration finds their questions uncomfortable. In a democracy, scrutiny is not sabotage, and accountability is not an attack.

“If the ABLP is confident in its record, it should welcome open inquiry, transparent processes, and factual clarification – rather than attempting to smear and silence critics through blanket accusations.

“The UPP remains focused, disciplined, and committed to offering the country a credible alternative to what now masquerades as good governance. We will not be intimidated nor misrepresented into silence,” it concluded.
