Trimingham Joseph Double Doubles
Donte Trimingham starred for Da Project, sinking 24 points and grabbing 21 rebounds to record an impressive double-double in a 68-53 victory over Navigators in Division 2 of the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) on Saturday at the JSC basketball complex.
Trimingham shot 40 percent from the field, sinking four of 10 from two-point range and five of 12 from beyond the arc. Twenty of his 21 rebounds came on the defensive end while he also recorded five assists and had five steals.
There was help from Erije Joseph who picked up 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Nathan Matthew added 12 points, eight rebounds and five assists to the effort.
In a losing effort, Raheem Sawyer top-scored for Navigators with 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. He had help from Ricky Willock who added 16 points and 11 rebounds to the effort.
In Saturday’s other contest, Jaleyle Joseph’s 24 points and 13 rebounds catapulted Ovals Ojays to a 84-63 triumph over Phoenix also at JSC. Joseph hit 11 of 18 from the field with 10 of those coming at two-point range.
Orion Seraphine and Yohhan Nicholas both sank 12 points while Dominick Anthony contributed with 10 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
For Phoenix, Adrian Carnegie hit a game-high of 28 points while Shalom Bloodman added 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
